A Breeding Ground For Illegal Activity One of the unintended consequences of the internet has been the immense amount of illegal and dangerous activity that it has harbored and perpetuated. I see one MAJOR downfall to sites like PoF. The Pros and Cons of DatingPros and Caballeros of Internet Dating. They think that OD is safe. The trick is in the approach. Many singles limit their search criteria to height, zip code, or income and can miss the opportunity to meet a compatible match.
Page 1 of 3 , , i was thinking about this the other day... Internet dating , as it was for telephone personals. It's a great place to break the ice and not feel that it it is a blind date as we used to know it. Meaning whether there's a chance as a lifelong partner. We have five senses , some of those can be determined by a chat room for phone. I've learned never to get my hopes up in any way, assume nothing. Have a good time until you actually meet and then take it from there. I have made some cool friends on here, had some good dates even... I'm a totally social person, and can meet people easily. I think I like POF better than any other dating site because of the forums and the fact that I'm also making female friends as well as meeting men. As a con to the internet dating scene, there is the other senses that are not met but needed for me to feel an attraction. It's the whole package, voice, as well as a look, and personality. Meeting someone randomly at some real life place, getting their number leads to a thrill on a different level that the internet doesn't meet. I think it just comes down to meeting the right one... The cool thing however, of this site, are the events that allow a greater level of networking. It isn't always what you know, but who you know that gets you ahead in life. Two of my closest friends met their mates because I introduced them, and they have true success stories. They give me hope.... Have met alot of people here made alot of real time friendships and i honestly can say that only one of them was not so much fun. So over all; that is not bad. Personally for me it is a good way to meet people this type of medium is my screening process, i am direct with my questions and i decide if the answers are truthful. I do risk assessment in my job and have also had to do quick assessments on people in other types of work that i have done and most of the time i am pretty right on with what i think of the individual. SO if things go well in this phase the next is the telephone. Most do not make it past the phone. BUt i believe this is a positive way to meet people. I have formed many excellent friendships and have some very close friends Some times it seems that you are going no where but when you look at the big picture I think that this has been a good place for me to meet people.. And if they are home at night the same time you are then you already have something in common. They can pretend they are someone... Just becareful and if you think something is not right..
